Litter
only
Litter only - a book about dustbins is a worldwide typology of the
public dustbin. "The Paris designer Philippe Starck once claimed
in a radio interview that when he comes to a new place he has not
been there before, the first thing he does is go for a walk near his
hotel, pick a full dustbin, carry it into his room, empty it on the
bed and go through its contents in order to learn about the people,
their place and the culture. For Starcks Berlin colleague, Alexandra
Martini, 29, the form of the container is enough. Martini photographed
public dustbins in 30 countries and all continents in order to catch
the "little difference"... For sure is: Whoever has held
this book in his hands, will never again throw waste into a bin, without
noticing it."
